Raksha Bandhan A Hindu Festival

Raksha Bandhan is celebrated on the full moon day of the Hindu Shravan month (July-August). This festival shows brotherly love towards his sister. On this day, the sister ties a rakhi on the wrists of her brothers and prays to God for their longevity and happiness. It is said that by tying Rakhi, brother's misfortune is averted and God protects brother. On this day, brothers promise to protect their sisters in every way. There is a sacred feeling of auspicious feelings among these Rakhis. This festival is mainly celebrated in North India.


There is a legend in Hindu mythology about Raksha Bandhan. According to Hindu mythology, in the Mahabharata, Draupadi, the wife of the Pandavas, had torn the edge of her sari to prevent the blood flowing from the wrist of Lord Krishna. Thus there was a bond of brother and sister between them and Lord Shri Krishna pledged to protect her.


It is a big holy festival leading to the progress and friendship of life. Raksha means rescue, and in medieval India, where women felt insecure in some places, they tied a rakhi on their wrists, treating the men as their brothers. Thus Rakhi strengthens the bond of love between brother and sister. Revives this emotional bond. On this day, On this day the Brahmins change their sacred thread and once again awaken themselves to the study of their scriptures.


On this day, by tying a rakhi on the hands of the sisters, the brother is protected from ghosts and other obstacles. Those people who do not have sisters, on this day, if someone ties a rakhi by making someone a mouthful sister, then you get auspicious results. These days the trend of silver and sony rakhi has also increased significantly. Silver and gold are considered pure metals, so their rakhi can be tied, but silk thread should be wrapped in them.
